whatever you do, DON'T put chemicals on her hair. are you sure her hair is nappy? a 3yr old should still have natural oils in her hair. but you should know. r u black or white? a black person's version of nappy is different from a white person's version of nappy. sounds silly, but true. have you ever seen what most white people call nappy? :-) a white magazine called Halle Berry's hair "coarse."my advice? get a blow dryer that has comb and brush attachments. after you wash your daughters's hair, use a conditioner and let it sit on her hair for whatever length the bottle says for the first time. you decide the length of time the second time. a wonderful and excellent conditoner to use is called motions. i don't know where you live, but where i live, we have places that we call the chinese stores. (owners are of diffent asian descents not necesarily chinese.) if you can find the one that is sold in a tub like fashion (like a big oversized jar) you would love it. you put your hands in it and its gooey and silky like(it has silicone in it.) put it on her hair, comb through, put a bag on it for 10plus minutes and whalah...you may not have to use a blow dryer. being that your daughter is only 3, she may not like a bag on her hair. if so it's okay. putting a bag on breaks it down quicker. it's almost like getting a hot oil treatment. some stores like sally's beauty supply, target, walmart, or cvs pharmacy carry it, but they don't sell it in the tub version, which is okay, it's the same thing; i just like the tub version better because you can reach your hands in it. it's so soft, it's like giving your hands a manicure. lol/ if you can't find Motions, then try the next best; cream of nature shampoo and conditioner... good luck chica

never straightened my hair with chemicals, but I did try a hot comb. I didn't like it because my hair had to be far too greased up so that it wouldn't burn, and it would burn anyway. The comb broke a lot of my hair and burnt my scalp.

Try cutting her hair short and clipping some cute clips in if it's not manageable, or you could use a detangler when her hair is damp. Always worked for me. I love my natural hair. Encourage her to do so too, and when she is older she can decide otherwise.

Ohhh. No, No, No. It will still damage her hair. Just find moisturizers and brush/comb her hair till it is smooth. I would wait until she is about 7-9yrs. old to use a hot comb.

Why don't you buy her the Johnsons%26amp;Johnsons' No more Tangles Spray? It is specifically made for children and it will make her hair easy to comb.

You're right. Do not put any adult type straightening products in her hair. Also, I would not recommend a hot comb. She's only 3. You don't want to damage her hair.

Dont touch her hair!!! She is 3, her hair is like gold at the moment. Wait till she is older. Cant you remember being little and having perfect hair that had no damage? And now being old and having split ends everywhere and its all brittle.

well i think a hot comb could damage hair also... I HAVE NAPPY HAIR TOO .. maybe u should try...profective hair products.... it works really good... U CAN FIND IT IN ANY BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE... and it is not grease... but will give the hair strength...and soften it... or u can just hot comb it... just not alot....it could damage her ends...
