How can I fix my dry and frizzy coarse hair?

I need step-by-step instructions (products to use) to fix my nappy hair. This is the type of hair that is crispy to the touch, so thick that hanging upside down would not make the hair move and looks frizzy. It is literally pubic hair.

But, I am VERY serious about this. I always did half-*** my efforts and it never gets anywhere. I want to get my hair looking good. I am a guy, by the way.

I don't mind using relaxers, but they smell even after using so I need something that will do the job. Any, ANY suggestions would be appreciated!

Honestly you don't need any step-by-step instructions. Try Pantene Restoritives. It rejuvinated my hair after 8 dyings. My hair was like dead, and its fine now.

well they say that if you want your hair to be smoother than to put mayonaise in it for a few minutes and rinse it out and it shud be smoother and if that doesnt work try grease. :)

most moisturizing shampoos and conditioners are amazing for coarse frizzy hair, then follow after you've towel dried it with some kind of product along the lines of anti frizz. i had the same problem with a chunk of my hair for a while and i did that and it helped it. also pantene makes this amazing system called "restoratives" and that works wonders with hair.

You need to use a product called "clay pac" from a company named altobella. A clay pack is a deep, deep conditioning treatment that you put on your hair and let harden. You can buy this product at many fine salons.

You also need a product called "sheer Brillance" by Rusk. This is an oil based product that is extremely "light" and does not leave the hair too greasy. You use a very litle bit (dime sized amount) in the palm of your hand. Imulsify it. Apply it from the root- out.

Your hair is most likely damaged for a reason. If you have ethnic hair, the courseness is something you may just have to deal with. Even good chemical straighteners rarely work. If you have damaged hair, you have probably over done it with too many chemicals (color, perm, etc..). If you are in an extremely sunny climate, excessive exposure can also dry out and damage your hair.

The clay pac will help you get back to normal. The sheer brillance will aid in styling (cut the frizz).

Heck, if all else fails, shave your head and start over. Many men have actually done this.....

Good luck.

Larry, b/c the hair is coiled so tight, this is what makes it tangle or as you call it "nappy".

You NEED to see a professional stylist for advice, ask for a consultation. Usually if you walk into a salon and ask a question a stylist can answer it for you at no charge, ask them for a regimen to help you w/ your hair. That "crispy" feeling is your hair crying out for moisture! You need to start off by using products targeted toward your hair type!
