I have human hair extensions and i have been having them done for over a year but have yet found the best way to prolong the life of them. I have tried high end shampoos and conditoners, leave in conditioners, moisturizers, letting it air dry, blowdrying, wraping it at night before i go to sleep using a flat iron. No matter what i do it seems to tangle and just ends up being a mess after about 3 or 4 weeks.
any suggestions on how to properly care for my extensions? anytime i wash them they become nappy and ruined. Any products would be a great help or instruction on how to care for them before washing... durring... and after !
thanks!

All human hair is not created equal. And not all human hair is the same hair structure as african american hair. If you go the humn hair route, you want to chose a hair that has the cuticle removed to help lessen tangles and matting.
When washing, you dont want to wash like you do your normal hair. You fill a basin or sink with warm, soapy water and gently drag and dip your hair through it. Make sure you arent scrunching and scrubbing as that can cause tangles. The daily leave in is a good idea as is the wrapping. Human hair is just like reg hair, too much heat styling can wreck havoc on it.
Also, combing the hair while wet isnt a good idea. It causes the hair to break and the shorter hairs mix with the longer hairs and make that frizzy look.
Honestly, even following all these rules, my human hair extentions have never lasted as long as my synthetic, but I hated being stuck with one style that I couldnt curl, flat iron etc.
I now use Pro-10 hair by Sensationnel. It is a curlable synthetic that last longer, stays smoother and doesnt snap or break. Its about the same price, if not more expensive than the standard quality human hair. The more you wet it, the better it gets. Including a link telling you more about it below. The second link is the cheapest place to order it. Hope it works

You must be using the fake hair. Spring for human hair it is worth the cost. Try clipping the ends of the extensions about a inch in the meantime.
